Actress Lee Remick, innocent by-stander in the Marilyn Monroe row, was released today from her 20th Century-Fox commitment, studio officials said.

A spokesman said she would leave for England within 10 days to co-star with Laurence Harvey in the Columbia movie, The Ballad of the Running Man.

Miss Remick had been pre-empted by Fox to replace Miss Monroe in Something's Got to Give. Miss Monroe was fired by the studio because of repeated absences, which reportedly put the film $2 million in debt.

Then Dean Martin, who was to co-star with Miss Monroe, said he wouldn’t make the film without her. The studio sued both of the stars and shut down production. A spokesman said Fox has not finally abandoned the film.
